So, how much does a video actually cost?

That’s a great question, and it can be hard to get clear answers from most production companies online.

Luckily, we’re not like most production companies!

Quick Snapshot: Our projects range from large scale commercials or branded docs that can be $150k+ to simple and snappy $3k event recaps.

That said, many of our 1-2 day documentary-style shoots (like brand story videos) land in the $10-20k range.

Asking how much a video costs is a bit like asking how much a beach vacation costs.  Is it a motel room at the Jersey shore or a villa rental on a Greek island? 

Planning a great vacation requires understanding your needs, expectations, and finances.  Planning a great video is similar. The prices can vary widely, and your budget and your goals determine what’s best for you. 

What Influences Our Pricing?

Several factors can affect the final cost of your project:

  1. Production Quality: The size of the crew and sophistication of equipment used. This also includes number of cameras, amount of lighting equipment required, microphones needed, if we’re bringing in a hair and makeup artist, etc.

  2. Shoot Duration: The number of time/days required for filming.

  3. Locations and Talent: If we’re renting locations, hiring actors, or traveling to Mozambique, that’s going to that's going to have additional costs compared to filming your team in your NYC office.

  4. Deliverables: The number and type of final video products, as well as how many rounds of revisions we do on the edit.

  5. Complexity: From the extensive preproduction and strategy required for some branded documentaries to technical challenges like getting FAA approval to fly drones over the Las Vegas strip (which yes, we can get) to licensing popular music to serve as the soundtrack, there are many complexities that can affect budget.

ROI

We never will pitch an idea that we don’t see as having a clear path to a strong ROI for your business. If you’re selling $1 slices of pizza, we’ll never suggest you spend $50k on a commercial. We’ll always be upfront, because the only way we succeed is when our clients are happy with their results and want to come back/refer their friends!
